You’ll observe the changing vegetation from high alpine mountains to semi-tropical forests as you drive from Paro to Trongsa. You’ll stop and look out for some mammals that can be observed in Dochu La (3112 m) before heading towards Pele La Pass (3353 m). Along the way we shall visit the striking Dzong of Trongsa, which overlooks the Mangde River. Stay overnight at Trongsa village.

On the following day, we will have our breakfast and continue our drive towards Tongtongphe town from where you’ll commence trek to Tongtongphe. During the trek towards the Mönpa village of Jangbi, keep your eyes open for squirrels, Asiatic black bear and musk deer. These animals are mostly observed by the tourist during the trek. After walking for about nine kilometers, you’ll reach campsite which lies at an altitude of 4560 feet above sea level. Camp overnight at Jangbi.

Day 3 : Trek from Jangbi to Kudra (1636 m, approx. 6/7 hrs. walk). O/N Kudra

After an appetizing breakfast, we set out early today as the walk is quite long. The trail follows the ridge line and descends through the Chir Pine forest. Along the way you can witness sambar deer, barking deer and the unusual gorals. Later you will ascend again through the thick forests of Phumzur and Mönpa small communities. When we reach Kudra our campsite offers a bird’s-eye-view of Nimshong village and the town of Zhemgang. Today’s campsite will be at an altitude of 5453 feet above sea level.
